🌿I can't stop thinking about Dolly Parton

I can't stop thinking about Dolly Parton.

While the world is remembering the singer, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur and philanthropist, I keep thinking about the woman behind the legend.

One of 12 children, Dolly grew up in rural Tennessee in a tiny home without running water or electricity. She came from very little and went on to build an absolutely extraordinary life.

But what strikes me most isn't just what she accomplished. It's that she never seemed to apologize for who she was.

She knew what she was good at and had the courage to pursue it—even when others underestimated her.

Dolly once said: “Find out who you are and do it on purpose.”

Her story makes me wonder how many of us are living the life we truly want—and how much of our lives is shaped by what we think we're “supposed” to do.

As women, we can get very good at putting ourselves last. We take care of our families, build our careers and show up for everyone around us; and sometimes forget to ask ourselves what we want.

Dolly didn't just dream about the life she wanted. She made intentional choices to build it, believe in her talent and take ownership of her future.

Maybe that's one of the greatest lessons she leaves us:

Don’t spend your life trying to fit into someone else’s idea of who you should be.

Whether it's our careers, our relationships, our dreams—or our money—we have more power than we sometimes realize to decide what we want our lives to look like.

Thank you, Dolly...for showing generations of women that you certainly did not play small. And neither should we. RIP. ❤️

Happy Wednesday! 🌿

PS: Did you know...Dolly wrote more than 3,000 songs and nearly 400 of them were before the age of 30!

Hit reply and let me know your favorite. Mine? Most definitely “Jolene”. 🤩
