🌿It pays to be a stalker...just not a creepy one 😉

A few months ago, “Evergreen Legacy Law” popped up in my Instagram feed.

Sara Lyons was talking about her work as an estate planning attorney, and something about her calm, approachable presence made me stop scrolling and listen. You know I LOVE estate planning!

I checked out her followers and discovered we had a mutual connection, Casey McKee, and immediately messaged Casey to ask if she knew Sara.

Her response? “Yes!! She is fabulous...You will love her!! She has a big, beautiful blended family like yours. I think you will get along really well.”

SOLD!

So I proceeded to... follow Sara, send her a DM introducing myself, AND send a cold email just in case she missed my message. 😂

That little bit of “stalking” led to a Zoom call, lunch, and eventually successfully collaborating on our September "Life Happens. Plan for It." event!

Today, I'm lucky to call Sara not only a business collaborator but also a friend and trusted sounding board. And we're just getting started!

I'm so glad I took a chance and reached out instead of overthinking it!

It makes me wonder how many opportunities we miss simply because we talk ourselves out of making that first move.

Maybe it's connecting with someone we'd love to know, asking for help, or finally addressing something about our finances that's been weighing on us.

We don't have to know exactly where a conversation will lead. We just have to be willing to start one.

So today, I want you to do two things:

First, ask yourself: → Who is someone I've been wanting to reach out to?

Then, take action: → Send the message. Make the introduction. Ask for the coffee. Start the conversation.

Don't let overthinking keep you from being one hello away from a friendship, an opportunity, or the guidance you've been looking for. 💗

Happy Wednesday! 🌿

PS: Thank you, Casey McKee, for that little, amazing nudge. 🤗
