🌿Confessions of an over-caffeinated mom

Updated: Nov 11, 2025

October 1, 2025

I'm a big coffee drinker. I’ll sip it all day if I can. And often, that means reheating the same mug several times.

But here's the kicker: half the time, I toss it in the microwave and completely forget it's in there. Fast forward to 6:00pm, I'm heating up dinner—and surprise! There’s my lonely, cold cup of coffee staring back at me.

It drives my boys crazy. They always ask, “How in the world can you forget that?!

But it’s not just the coffee—the forgetfulness shows up in other places, too.

Like when you're driving and suddenly realize you have no idea where you're going... or why you're even in the car!

Or my personal favorite: Walking out of the gym (or the grocery store, or the office…), looking around the parking lot, and thinking, “Where did I park?” Only to try opening the door of a white car that you suddenly realize is definitely not yours!

We laugh it off—and yes, it’s funny. But underneath the humor is something real: we are mentally overloaded.

We’re juggling so much—kids, parents, work, health, life—that even the most important things, like our personal finances, end up on the “I’ll get to it later” list. And just like that forgotten coffee, they stay there… untouched… for months or even years.

But here’s the difference: your cold coffee can be reheated. Your financial well-being? That’s something you can’t afford to forget—or leave until it’s too late.

If this resonates with you, maybe this is your moment to pause, shift your focus, and start giving your finances the attention they deserve. Because if you don’t… who will? ☕

Happy Wednesday! 🌿
