🌿Don’t eat the yellow snow

Updated: Feb 16

February 11, 2026

Is this snow ever going to melt?!

Since that storm we had at the end of January, the temperature has barely budged, the snow has hardly melted, and the grass is nowhere in sight!

Walking the dog feels less like a peaceful stroll and more like an arctic expedition. And as I'm out with Einstein the other morning, I suddenly hear my dad’s voice in my head:

“Remember kids…don’t eat the yellow snow!” 🫤

Let’s just say he was a man of many sayings and this was one of his favorites!

But as much as they used to drive me crazy, I’d give anything right now to hear one again.

Missing someone can hit when you least expect it. And it reminds me that when someone we love is gone, the last thing we want layered on top of grief is financial chaos.

The greatest gift we can leave behind isn’t just money or things — it’s clarity and preparation.

It’s having conversations before you have to. Organizing documents so someone else could step in. And making sure your loved ones aren’t left guessing.

So this week, I encourage you to take a few minutes to handle one small financial detail you’ve been putting off.

Maybe...Start a simple list of accounts. Update a beneficiary. Schedule that conversation.

And if you’ve let someone else handle the money, consider this your gentle invitation to understand it too.

Finding your financial voice isn’t about becoming an expert. It’s about choosing not to stay silent — asking questions and understanding what would happen if life suddenly shifted.

Because long after the snow melts, it’s the love, the laughter, and the preparation we leave behind that truly last.

Who has been a financial influence in your life? Hit reply and share your story, I’d love to hear!

Happy Wednesday! 🌿
