🌿Father's Day Reflection How Life Comes Full Circle

Father’s Day is this Sunday, and like every year since 2012, it brings a mix of emotions.

My dad has been gone for over a decade, yet not a day passes without him in my thoughts. I still talk to him every night—sharing my day, struggles, and little wins. He’s my silent sounding board, always present in spirit.

Ironically his background was in accounting, and he loved numbers! Growing up, he tried so hard to teach me about money—budgeting, saving, planning ahead. And naturally, I wanted no part of it. I would just roll my eyes, brush him off, convinced I knew better.

Funny how life comes full circle.

Today, I run a financial wellness company for women, dedicating my days to helping them make personal finance a priority in their lives—exactly what he tried to do for me all those years ago!

I realize now that my journey has taught me something deeper: our early influences absolutely matter, but they don’t have to define us. We all grow up with messages, habits, and beliefs shaped by family. Some we keep. Some we outgrow.

For me, learning about money went from rebellion to reflection—and finally, to empowerment. My dad’s lessons, once resisted, became a foundation. But I’ve built my own path on top of it—one that reflects who I am and what I value.

If you’re missing someone this weekend, my heart is with you. And if you’ve come full circle like I have, know this: you can honor where you came from, learn from it, and still create the life you want—and deserve.

Happy Father’s Day to all those we carry with us, and to all the new paths we create in their memory. ❣️
