🌿Flip negative self-talk into positive action

In last week's Wednesday Wisdom, I shared about my recent guest appearance on my friend Sandy Joy Weston, M.Ed.'s podcast.
Â
One topic we homed in on was the negative self-talk so many women struggle with, especially when it comes to their finances.
Â
Sandy asked what I do to get out of that negative headspace. My answer was pretty simple but has been incredibly powerful for me.
Â
When I'm feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or discouraged, I think about my bestie - the person I call when life feels hard. The one who always has my best interests at heart.
Â
I close my eyes, picture her beautiful face, and say to myself:
Â
"Today, I'm going to make her proud."
Â
I'm going to do the thing I know she would encourage me to do. And I'm going to speak to myself the way she would speak to me - with kindness, compassion, and belief in my abilities.
Â
When we're able to flip the negative talk into something more positive, we gain the confidence to take action.
Â
If you're struggling with negative thoughts or trying to replace self-criticism with something more positive, give this little trick a try.
Â
Think about that person in your life who loves you, supports you, and wants the best for you.
Â
Close your eyes.
Picture her face.
Then go make her proud. đź’›
Â
It sounds simple but it just might change the conversation you're having with yourself.
 Â
If you're already doing something that helps you flip that negative talk into positive action, hit reply and let me know. I'd love to share what works with others!
Â
Happy Wednesday! 🌿

A few more things for you this week...
Â
Â
▶️ A little exercise that may be helpful
Â
Write down negative money statements you notice for a week, then rewrite them into a more constructive statement. The goal: replace identity-based statements with growth-based statements.
Â
▶️ Old Script >> New Script
Â
"I'm so bad with money."
>> "Money management is a skill I'm working on."
Â
"I'll never get ahead."
>> "Progress happens one decision at a time."
Â
"I'm always broke."
>> "I'm working on increasing my financial stability."
Â
"I can't afford anything."
>> "That's not a priority for my budget right now."
Â
"I made a financial mistake."
>> "I learned something valuable about money."
